SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
Upton Cross Primary School is committed to enabling all pupils to achieve their best in a challenging, creative, stimulating, supportive and safe learning environment. The successful inclusion of all pupils at Upton Cross School is to be actively sought by all members of the school community. All stakeholders involved in the education of the child – parents/carers, teaching and non teaching staff, governors and outside agencies – should share their knowledge and understanding of the child and work in partnership for the good of the child.
As part of the Children and Families Act 2013, Local Authorities are required to publish a ‘Local Offer’ which sets out support that is available for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities in the local area.
Newham’s Local Offer is available on the Newham Website, it tells parents how to access services in their area and what to expect from these services. For information about activities, visit here.
Alongside this, schools are required to publish information about their arrangements for identifying, assessing and making provision for pupils with special educational needs.
The following information outlines the support and provision pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities can expect at Upton Cross Primary School.
At Upton Cross Primary School:
