Year 5- Drama workshop
In Year 5 we have attended a drama workshop about Romeo and Juliet. We learnt about different aspects of drama such as stage presence and how to act out the play. We learnt about different acting techniques such as freeze frames, voice expression, body language and how to be in the characters shoes
Year five completed a Greek Workshop to assist them with their knowledge of Ancient Greece. The children learnt about the Ancient Greek culture, legends and the creations/celebrations that are still used today. The workshop allowed children to share their newfound knowledge with each other in order to create drama pieces. They created improvisations, freeze frames, movement pieces and then performed the story of 'King Midas and the Golden Touch.' The children enjoyed the workshop and it was lovely to see their enthusiasm and engagement in the topic!

British Library visit
This term year 5 have had the wonderful opportunity to visit the British Library in central London. Whilst we were there we got to explore how writing and language has evolved through the centuries, from people writing on bones to religious books adorned with diamonds, gold and rubies! The children were able to read letters from previous kings and queens of England, “Seeing a real letter from Henry VII and Anne Boleyn was so cool, they actually wrote it!” Aniqa - Mulberry. The children developed vital skills at the library, enabling them to be more creative with the language they use in class. “I have so many ideas for my poem now, I cant wait to write it” Manya - Mulberry.
