The Government in England is providing funding of £150 million per annum for academic years 2013/14 and 2014/15 to provide additional substantial primary sport funding. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to Primary schools to improve the quality of physical education and sport for all children.

In 2013-14 Upton Cross Primary received £10,000 ‘School Sport Premium’.

This has been spent to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE sport so that pupils develop healthy life-styles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.
